Sleeping in ’till 6am
Wow, who would have ever thought I would live to see the day I was glad to sleep in until 5:30 or 6am! The last two days I have had to get up at 4 and 4:30am in order to make it to my photo shoots on time. The only good thing about being on the road when there are still stars in the sky is that you are pretty much out there alone. I can’t think of any other time of day where you would be able to drive from Edmonds to Enumclaw (60 miles) in an hour. At least I won’t have to get up that early much longer.
As much as I like to bemoan getting up that early, it has actually taught me a lot about myself. Like the fact that I more choose to keep a late schedule than it being some biological oddity of my body. I certainly love staying up late at night but I now know that I can go to sleep at 10pm and get up at 6 on a regular basis. I have also had the pleasure of enjoying some beautiful early morning sun rises. Like this morning on the way out to Enumclaw I got to watch the sun rise over Mt Rainier. A couple weeks ago I was driving through mist filled farm fields on my way out to Snohomish. Even yesterday morning when I was loading my equipment into the car at 4:45am it was fun to look up and say good morning to Orion as he hung there in the sky. I think everyone should have a job some time in their life that makes them keep a different schedule than they are used to so they can see the beauty they are missing. Just as I find the night sky so amazing and beautiful, I have seen some incredible sunrises. God truely does give us an incredible world to live in!
