What’s a medium coffee?
So apparently Seattle is an odd part of the country in the sense that we call different sizes of espresso drinks tall, grande, and venti. In the week plus I have been here every time I have referred to something as a grande size people just look at me funny. Hmm, I never thought that I might be a coffee snob! I also never realized how frustrating it can be to try cooking with an oven that doesn’t keep a consistent temperature. I baked cookies last night and discovered that apparently the oven at my apartment fluctuates over a range of about 150 degrees for no apparent reason. I think it might be staying on for way to long like the thermometer that measures the internal temp is broken or something. I think it made all the cookies turn out slightly over done. Oh well, at least I know that for next time I cook.
I think the people here are either extremely gracious and kind or they have never had good home cooked food. Each time I have brought something in that I baked the ladies in the office went crazy about it. I definitely like my cooking but even I don’t think it is that good. Oh well, at least they seem to appreciate it.
Things have been a little boring around my place and I guess that is part of why I have been doing so much cooking. Cooking and watching Seinfeld is pretty much all I have done for the last three days. Tomorrow I get cable and internet though so it shouldn’t be quite so slow after work. At least I won’t have to run up to the conference center in the middle of the night to make sure my fantasy rosters are set for the next day!
I’m at a local coffee house called Coffee Cat right now and it’s pretty good. Nothing quite compares to drinking coffee on a rainy day in Seattle but someday I’ll be back for that. Any way, my battery is getting close to dying so I think I better get going. I hope nothing is wrong with it, it was plugged in while I was eating dinner and watching Seinfeld but when I got here the battery was already down to 65%. Great, one more thing to spend money on! Chao!
