Salvation

So based on the past history of things I have written on my blog you might think that this post is about some deep theological thought I had or at least some curious observation I made at some point during the past week. Oh no, something far more important has drawn me back to the blog-o-sphere. That’s right, the madness that is fantasy baseball has begun. My first team of the season autodrafted at midnight and I’ve already put in two waiver claims. I must say however, I am feeling very, very good about my team. Though it is only a 10 team league, I would say I have at least two and possibly as many as four first round picks on my team. Ryan Howard, Miggy Cabrera, Pronk, and Grady Sizemore round out an all star offense. My pitching staff is pretty solid too even though I doubt many of them drafted early. Beckett, Matt Caine, Sheets, D-Train, and Freddy Garcia are a pretty solid rotation, especially in the K’s department. The only area that I’m not feeling great about so far is saves. I have Lidge, who should bounce back to a good season but it would be nice to pick up a top shelf closer to go along with him. I am hoping Wickman retires or something so Sorriano can take over the closer role in Atlanta and I do have Fuentes, who is better than nothing but I might look into a trade for Ryan or Nathan to really make my team solid. I also have a waiver claim in for Tim Lincecum. Any guy who strikes out half the batters he faces is worth a pre-season gamble. If he doesn’t make the rotation and Benitez flips out, he could be this year’s Pappelbon. Anyway, that’s enough for tonight. I’m pretty much moved into my new place now. I’ll get my camera out tomorrow and take some pics to post on flickr. I like it a lot more than I thought I would. The doorways are a little narrow but it feels a lot more like a home and a lot less like a dorm room. I better get to bed though, I’m headed to church tomorrow with Juan and Shelly. I think they are trying to convert me over to their church, I don’t think I’ll leave Vintage though, I like it too much there.
