Well, I took the jump yesterday and went to Costco to get Windows Vista. I’m now running the Ultimate Edition on my laptop and surprisingly it only took me a day and a half to get it running right. The two biggest problems I ran into were with my audio drivers and my anti-virus. For some reason the copy of Live OneCare that I have isn’t compatable with Vista so I have to call Microsoft to find out if I need to buy a new liscense or not. I’m hoping not but in the mean time I went with a free anti-virus by AVG. Vista has built in anti-spyware and backup utilities so I don’t need those features in my anti-virus right now. The audio driver wasn’t so much fun. I had to dig around the net for several hours before I figured out what was wrong but once I did figure it out, all I had to do was install the XP driver. But that ended up soundling like it was more of an HP problem than a Microsoft problem. Anyway, enough geek speak.

Tomorrow we are taking a reg day off for a field trip so that should be fun but I’ve gotta get some sleep first so later!
