it might be early but. . .

George Sherrill 3.18era, 6 saves, 4k

Adam Jones .278, 1hr, 3 rbi

vs.

Erik Bedard 3.10, 1-0, 10k, 15 day DL

Brad Wilkerson .152, 0hr, 4rbi

Mike Morse .222, 0hr, 0rbi, 15 day DL

Obviously this is a trade that is going to be judged over the next 5 years or so, but to this point, the Mariners traded away depth they are now sorely missing for a sore hip and two trips to theDL.  If I’m Bavasi, I’m praying for Bedard’s hip because he’s pinned his Mariner future on this trade.

Hmm… Bedard is going to win 20 for the Mariners several times before his time in Seattle is through. I’d even venture to say that he is going to be close to 20 this year. DL stints suck, but they’re not the end of the world.

  • about me

    My name is Jonathan Assink.

I'm a writer, photographer, baseball nut, foodie & lover of indie bands you've probably never heard of. I wrote a theology of justice for artists & love to talk about the intersection of art, faith & social justice. I am passionate about words & images. I have a heart for the city, for the church (in whatever form it takes) & for artists.

Though inspired & influenced by many different people and experiences my words here are my own & do not represent the views of any organization I might be involved in.
